Concierge Executive Health: Access vs Measured Care

Concierge executive health is a practice model where you pay a monthly or yearly retainer for longer visits, faster appointments, and direct access to a physician, sometimes with a yearly executive physical included. Each practice sets its own fee and its own list of what the fee covers, so ask in writing which labs, imaging, and specialist visits are included and which are billed separately. Performance at $999/mo is primary. Executive at $5,000/mo is secondary.

Your doctor answers the phone, but the plan is still "just take a statin" and a recheck next year. Faster access does not tell you whether plaque is still growing.

What concierge medicine is selling

Concierge, retainer, and boutique practices are a payment model. You pay a fee so the panel stays smaller and the clinician has more time. Common features people are buying:

Mayo Clinic's flyer is explicit about this mix-up. A medical concierge program, in their words, is a membership with around-the-clock year-round provider access for an annual fee. They say they are not that membership and do not provide that access. They do describe a career-long relationship centered on an annual visit, specialist access, and executive-level amenities, plus support between appointments.

A famous executive-health program can feel concierge because of a lounge, a coordinator, and a quiet schedule. The clinical work is still the visit, and amenities do not change what gets measured.

4. Which parts of the fee are amenities, meals, or coaching rather than medical care? That split matters for HSA questions and for insurance.
