Mayo Clinic Executive Health vs Renew Health: Key Facts
Andrew founded Renew Health to change how cardiovascular disease is detected and treated.
Mayo Clinic's standard protocol flyer lists CT coronary calcium with a baseline at age 40 for men and age 55 for women, while Renew Health's How it works page lists CIMT imaging and a 33-driver lab panel in month one (MC1927-39, How it works). Mayo Clinic's standard protocol flyer schedules the history and physical annually, while Renew Health's Pricing page lists physician visits as monthly on Performance and unlimited on Executive (MC1927-39, Pricing). Mayo Clinic's Executive Health FAQ flyer describes a career-long care relationship, centered around an annual visit (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). Renew Health's Executive health page says the Performance and Executive memberships both start with CIMT imaging and a 33-driver workup, then keep measuring and treating all year (Executive health). The Mayo Clinic FAQ flyer says the cost of an appointment will vary based on many factors, including gender, age, visit, and campus (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
Your CIMT came back with an arterial age years past your real one, and soft plaque on one side. Your doctor called it fine for now, offered a statin, and said see you next year. Then a peer from your CEO group came back from a Mayo Clinic visit and told you to book the same one. You want to know what each option measures, how often it measures it, and who acts on the numbers once you are home. Years of building the company cost you sleep and energy, and you want both back. Most of all, you want to know if it is still growing.

What a Mayo Clinic executive physical includes
The Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ flyer says every Mayo campus delivers the same standard protocol of services, and that the final cost depends on added tests, screenings, and consults and on any optional services you choose (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
The Mayo Clinic standard protocol flyer lists its most common services and how often each is scheduled. They include a comprehensive history and physical with a written report every year, a resting ECG and an exercise or treadmill ECG as a baseline at the first visit, CT coronary calcium as a baseline at age 40 for men and age 55 for women, abdominal aortic ultrasound and bone density on a schedule based on age, gender, and health-risk status, an audiogram, a colonoscopy baseline at age 45, and annual lab work. The flyer notes that additional testing or a varied testing schedule may be necessary (Mayo Clinic standard protocol flyer, MC1927-39).
The Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ flyer says the executive services fee pays for the non-clinical side: an executives-only space, an executive lounge and concierge staff, a consolidated appointment schedule, fast-tracked lab results, and prioritized specialist consults. Mayo reviews each application before it invites a patient into the program (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
What happens between Mayo visits
The Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ flyer describes a career-long care relationship centered around an annual visit, with support after and between appointments. Certified Mayo Clinic wellness coaches can work with you over a series of phone or video appointments on exercise, nutrition, stress, and sleep. Active patients also get a quarterly newsletter and a quarterly expert speaker series. Mayo requires a local primary care provider for personal health needs, including medication refills, and the flyer says the program does not provide 24/7/365 provider access (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
The heart test each one leads with
A coronary calcium scan and a CIMT scan answer different questions. Calcium scoring counts calcified plaque in the heart arteries. The 2019 ACC/AHA primary prevention guideline by Arnett and colleagues states that the absence of coronary artery calcium does not rule out noncalcified plaque, and that clinical judgment about risk should prevail (Arnett et al., Circulation 2019). CIMT is an ultrasound of the carotid arteries in the neck that reads wall thickness and plaque (Executive health). In the ARIC study by Nambi and colleagues (n = 13,145), adding CIMT and plaque to traditional risk factors reclassified about 23% of participants. The ARIC authors concluded that it should be considered in the intermediate-risk group, a 5% to 20% estimated 10-year risk (Nambi et al., J Am Coll Cardiol 2010).
The Mayo Clinic standard protocol flyer lists CT coronary calcium among its most common services, and carotid intima-media thickness is absent from that list (Mayo Clinic standard protocol flyer, MC1927-39). Renew Health's Pricing page lists quarterly imaging in its Full Arterial Reversal bundle, which is part of the Executive, Performance, and Reversal memberships (Pricing). For what each scan adds to an executive physical, see executive physical with CIMT and executive physical with calcium score.
How the Renew Health membership works
Renew Health's How it works page describes month one as a deep dive: a full intake, CIMT imaging, the 33-driver lab panel, an OralDNA test, and a dental exam. In month two your physician builds a protocol of medications, supplements, nutrition, and exercise around your own drivers, and from month three the protocol is adjusted weekly (How it works). Renew Health's Executive health page lists the drivers as inflammation, metabolic, genetic, infectious, sleep, and oral pathogens (Executive health).
Renew Health's Pricing page lists the testing behind every membership: Advanced Inflammation Panel, Insulin Resistance Panel (with OGTT), Lipoprotein Panel (Lp(a), ApoB), Genetic Testing (ApoE, KIF6, 9p21), OralDNA Testing, Sleep Study, and Vitamin & Metabolic Panel. The Root Cause Workup (OralDNA, Sleep, Genetics) runs 1x/year (Pricing).
The promise is to stop it, then reverse it. The first goal is to stop the plaque from growing. The next is to work toward reversing it, and your follow-up CIMT shows where you are. A flat scan counts as the first win, because it means the disease stopped progressing.
Renew Health's Pricing page lists the Performance membership with monthly physician visits, Tune-up labs 4x/year, monthly S&C coaching sessions, monthly nutritionist sessions, DEXA body composition scans 2x/year, VO2 Max testing 2x/year, in-home mobile phlebotomy, and an Annual Executive Health Report. Renew Health's Pricing page lists the Executive membership with unlimited physician visits, weekly S&C coaching sessions, unlimited nutritionist access, DEXA body composition scans 4x/year, VO2 Max testing 4x/year, meal delivery or personal chef meal prep, custom compounded medications, a dedicated sleep specialist, and priority scheduling. For imaging, the Executive membership lists CIMT + advanced arterial imaging. Renew Health's Pricing page lists Supplements as Included & Shipped on the Executive membership (Pricing).
In-home blood draws come with the Performance and Executive memberships only (Pricing). Your care team includes a Physician, an S&C Coach, a Nutritionist, a Dental Liaison, and a Care Coordinator who is your direct line (How it works). Renew Health's Pricing page lists a money-back guarantee on every tier: if you have a cardiovascular event while enrolled and following your protocol, Renew Health refunds your membership fees (Pricing). Renew Health's Pricing page says, "We offer Medicare-adjusted pricing on Essentials and Reversal memberships. Otherwise, we operate outside insurance" (Pricing). Medicare does not cover the membership. Essentials and Reversal, the lighter tiers, are on Pricing.
Institutional credibility and brand reputation
Mayo Clinic's Executive Health FAQ flyer describes the program as a career-long relationship with Mayo Clinic providers, focused on preventive health (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). The flyer lists Executive Health contacts in Arizona, Florida, Minnesota, and London, United Kingdom, and says you can choose the Mayo Clinic location that is most convenient for you (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
Renew Health's About page says its clinical approach is rooted in the BaleDoneen Method, and it lists a board-certified vascular neurologist and a Dental Liaison who is a BaleDoneen Method Preceptor on the team (About). The same page says "This is all we do," and that Renew Health's physicians don't see patients for colds or checkups (About).
Target audience: corporate leaders, executives, and their companies
The Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ flyer says the program serves CEOs, presidents, founders, managing directors, managing partners, C-suite executives, and other business leaders and VIPs. The flyer lists a corporate enrollment option for companies with 25+ employees, and the company determines eligible executives. It also says Mayo Clinic is a destination medical center that sees patients from all 50 states and over 130 countries (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). The flyer says the enrolling company also sets Mayo Clinic campus options, preferred billing, and what it will and won't cover (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). It also says that with retirement there is a time when local primary care is a better fit than an executive-focused program (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
Renew Health's Executive health page names Performance and Executive membership as its executive-health path, and it describes the Executive membership as "Your health, fully managed" (Executive health). Renew Health's Pricing page says higher tiers add more contact, more testing, and more of your health managed for you (Pricing).
Preventive medicine and personalized wellness planning
Mayo Clinic's Executive Health FAQ flyer states the program's mission as individualized, comprehensive care for full-time working executives, with a focus on preventive health and wellness and timely, coordinated access to multidisciplinary care (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
Mayo Clinic's Executive Health FAQ flyer says each appointment is tailored to address each executive's specific needs, concerns and interests, and its wellness coaches help executives set goals and create an action plan (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). Renew Health's How it works page lists weekly exercise and meal plan adjustments (How it works). Renew Health's Pricing page lists a dementia prevention track in the Performance and Executive memberships, a structured protocol informed by your ApoE genetics, metabolic markers, and lifestyle data that includes cognitive baseline testing, targeted interventions, and ongoing monitoring (Pricing).
Is a Mayo Clinic executive physical worth it?
A Mayo Clinic executive physical is worth it if you want a thorough annual exam with prioritized access to Mayo specialists and you have a local doctor to carry the plan between visits. If a scan has already shown arterial disease and you want it re-measured and treated through the year, a membership built on repeat imaging fits that job.
Mayo Clinic is the closer fit in three cases. If you want testing and specialist opinions on one trip, Mayo Clinic's FAQ flyer lists a consolidated appointment schedule and prioritized specialist consults (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). If you want insurance to carry part of the bill, the flyer says Mayo files claims with your carrier for the parts of your care that are typically covered by insurance, and that Mayo is in-network with many health plans (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). If a complex diagnosis turns up, the flyer says Mayo Clinic is available in the event of a complex diagnosis and specialty care need (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43).
The research on broad checkups explains why the follow-through matters. The Cochrane review of general health checks by Krogsbøll and colleagues included 17 trials, 15 of which reported outcome data (251,891 participants). Health checks had little or no effect on total or cancer mortality, and probably little or no effect on cardiovascular mortality (Krogsbøll et al., Cochrane 2019). A 2019 JAMA research letter by Korenstein and colleagues on executive physicals at top-ranked US hospitals found the most commonly included services were a hearing examination and an electrocardiogram, and the authors noted that both carry I grades (insufficient evidence) from the US Preventive Services Task Force (Korenstein et al., JAMA 2019). A long test day helps most when someone acts on what it finds.
How much does a Mayo Clinic executive physical cost?
The Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ flyer gives no dollar figure. It says the cost varies with gender, age, visit, and campus, with added tests, screenings, and consults, with optional services, and with insurance coverage, and it refers patients to a separate pricing piece for the standard protocol. The flyer says the executive services fee is typically out of pocket unless your company pays through corporate enrollment (Mayo Clinic Executive Health FAQ, MC1927-43). For published price ranges across programs, see executive physical cost. For the broader format comparison, see executive physical.
